Ordering/Collection
Q. How much notice is required for orders?
A. We need a minimum of 10 days notice for all celebration cakes orders including wedding cakes but we recommend you order as early as you can.
Q. What are the shop opening hours?
A. Our shops are open Monday to Saturday excluding Public Holidays. Opening hours vary but all shops are open between 9.00am - 4.00pm and most shops are open until 5.00pm. If in doubt please ring the shop to arrange a collection time. All shop addresses, telephone numbers and maps can be found on the home page by clicking 'find your local shop'.
Cakes can also be collected from the Bakery on Manchester Road, Leigh between the hours of 9-5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Q. Can I collect my cake on a Sunday?
A. Unfortunately no, our shops are open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Q. What if I can't remember exactly what I ordered?
A. After the order has been placed you will automatically receive an email confirming the details of your purchase.
Q. What if I pressed the wrong button and didn't realise it, would I end up with a cake I don't want?
A. All orders are checked personally and if there are any obvious errors or queries we will contact you.
Q. Isn't it easier to order a cake at one of your shops?
A. We love to meet our customers and provide you with a personal service. Ordering on the website is designed to take you step by step through the details we need to make your perfect cake. There are more photographs and information for you to browse through on our website than we can give you in our shops. The whole process can be completed in the comfort of your own home at a time to suit you.
Q. What if I don't select all the choices?
A. If any of the choices on your order are left unselected eg ornament, trim etc then we reserve the right to use our own discretion.
Q. What if I make a mistake on my order?
A. Please check your order carefully before proceeding to payment. Mistakes made on trim colours, ornaments or inscriptions can be corrected but you are required to let us know of the problem within 24 hours of placing the order. You can either telephone 01942 740000 or email us from the contacts page.
Q. Which shop can I collect my cake from?
A. A choice of 45 Waterfields shops, around the northwest, can be found on the home page by clicking 'find your local shop'.
During the order process you will be prompted to select which shop to pick up the cake from.
Cakes can also be collected from our bakery on Manchester Road, Leigh which has the benefit of free parking on site. The Reception is open from 9.00-5.00 Monday to Friday (closed on Sat & Sun & public holidays)
Q. What if I want a different colour of ribbon than the ones in your catalogue?
A. Customers are welcome to supply their own coloured ribbon to finish the cake. Just fill in the details on the "any further instructions" screen during the ordering process and we will let you know the length and width of ribbon required.
